Canada West championship dates released for track and field, swimming, and wrestling

The final pieces to the 2015-16 Canada West season were unveiled Tuesday, as the conference’s swimming, track and field, and wrestling championship dates were released.
Track and field: The Canada West Track and Field Championship travels to Saskatoon this season, where the Saskatchewan Huskies play host to the event February 26-27. Trinity Western enters the season with their eyes set on repeating on the women’s side, while the Calgary Dinos are the defending champs on the men’s side.
York University will be the scene of CIS nationals March 10-12.
Cross country: CIS’ best cross country runners converge on Guelph University November 14 for nationals. The host Gryphons enter the new season in search of the program’s 10th consecutive team title sweep, while the Trinity Western women and Victoria Vikes men - who captured the Canada West team titles - look to improve one spot from last year, after finishing with CIS silver behind Guelph.
NOTE: CIS cross country nationals double as the Canada West championship, with the top Canada West team at the event earning the conference banner. The date of the event had already been released by CIS.
Swimming: The conference championship meet is slated for November 27-28 at UBC, where the Thunderbirds will be looking to defend both their men’s and women’s titles.
UBC’s men set a new Canada West record last season at the conference championship, becoming the first team to record more than 1000 points at the event, securing 1007 team points. The women had a stellar performance as well, securing the team's six consecutive and 26th overall Canada West title.
The Canadian Interuniversity Sport nationals are scheduled for February 26-27 in Laval.
Wrestling: Alberta enters the 2015-16 wrestling season in search of the program’s fourth straight Canada West men’s title, while Calgary looks to remain atop the women’s side after dethroning Alberta, who entered last season as three-time conference champions. This year’s conference championship goes February 5-6 in Winnipeg, before CIS nationals, which are being held by Ontario University Athletics February 26-27 at a host yet to be announced.
